Don Cornelius Dies At 75; Apparent Suicide
The beloved creator of, Soul Train has reportedly died. Cornelius was found dead 4am in his Sherman Oaks home of what seems to be a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head. He was 75.
Don was such a staple in Black History. Soul Train brought loved ones together and introduced us to great music and entertainers. The show spanned decades, running from 1971 to 2006. He had been battling Cancer for some time, it's very sad. RIP Don Cornelius.

MissJD and Old Spice: You are both correct! TMZ reports that Don told the divorce court just 'finalize his divorce before he dies' in 2009. That was before his health problems. Don died heartbroken and alone not because of his health.
Rest in Peace Don Cornelius. It is sad that a man who has brought some joy and surrounded by so many people, died heartbroken and alone from a divorce and without a caretaker or someone to talk to sharing his burdens and problems. His death should bring attention to mental health disease in the black community.
