Gabby Douglas Said She Made History So Worry About Your Own Damn Hair!

Okay, so she didn't exactly say it like that but that's how she meant it. In an interview with Associate Press, Gabby talks about being confused over the controversy of her own hair.

"I don't know where this is coming from. What's wrong with my hair?" said Douglas, the first U.S. gymnast to win gold in team and all-around competition. "I'm like, `I just made history and people are focused on my hair?' It can be bald or short, it doesn't matter about (my) hair."

Douglas uses gel, clips and a ponytail holder to keep things in place while she competes, a style she's worn for years.

"Nothing is going to change," she said. "I'm going to wear my hair like this during beam and bar finals. You might as well just stop talking about it."

The bubbly teenager is the first African-American gymnast to win her sport's biggest prize. She had no idea she was lighting up social media until she Googled herself hours after winning her gold medal.

"I don't think people should be worried about that," she said. "We're all champions and we're all winners. I just say that it's kind of, a stupid and crazy thought to think about my hair."

Crazy thing is, I may be the only person the planet that doesn't see what the fuss is about her hair. Even if she hadn't made history, I don't get what the problem is. She has thick hair, full edges and a great length. What's the issue here? I'm sorry, with all of the women who have their edges on life support, I can't possibly fix my mind to see anything wrong with Gabby's hair. Is it not as slick as people want it to be? Is it because of the clips and gel that she uses to keep her hair out of her face while she's out there WINNING? She is 16 years old and sweating out her hair daily. She has the rest of her life to be concerned about Indian Remy weave. Til then, she's going to keep counting those Corn Flakes dollars and stunting while the haters stay mad.

Question...what serious athlete goes to the beautian when you are participating in a sporting event. That's the dumbest thing I have heard! The hair do will be gone in point five seconds!

Your fustrations and requests are giving me great satifaction.Leave you judgemental attitude at the door next time you enter a room.Also, practice unconditional love for a single hour 2 or 3 times a week.

Because if you had some you would recognize that Gabby has self love and a 16 yo has more more focus on things that really matter than you do. That's what's wrong with society. There are OBESE women with waterfall shellac hairdos, complaining about getting their hair wet/sweating it out while this young lady is training for a major sport event.

The reason you can't fathom why she doesn't have beautician is because you are not on her level.

Her focus and drive requires a mental state willing to sacrifice, much like her mother did for her. FOCUS on getting the perfect turnout, landing, and balance.

MOST (black)GIRLS HER AGE are worrying about Tyrone and all his knuckleheaded friends having sex and quoting Nicki Minaj lyrics on their way to school.

That's why she's not in the same category. She has a REAL goal to accomplish that surpasses getting her hair did.

I really hope you can interpret that, understand it, and realize there is more to a human than their personal appearance. It can be gone tomorrow, but accomplishments can still be made.
