All those complaining about this gurl's hair are clearly sitting on their butts 24/7 probably never exercised in their lives. Gabby is winning golds what are they doing?

At her age athlete or not your hair should not be your priority.

@l8dy-c, I don't know about you, but it doesn't matter if our hair is natural or relaxed, since we sweat from our scalp, our roots are the first to go (back to kinky). This wonderful young woman was probably warming up before her major event (no time to keep adding heat to her hair) and prepared her hair in the manner that was comfortable for her to perform.

I work out everyday if I can or every 2nd day, and I cringe when I have to add heat just to get it back straight again. Sometimes I just say F it and just gel with some clips and I go about my day.

She does care about her appearance: remember her in the pic with Dominique Dawes where here hair was flat ironed?

wow @ l8dy-c... Shallow much. Clearly you have no idea what goes into becoming an Olympic athlete... in addition to the sacrifices that come with it. she has the rest of her life to obsess over hair. Considering that her mom worked 3 jobs to help fund her training I am sure that a stylist is the last thing on her list of priorities. However with her $90 million in endorsements the sacrifice of hair that is fried dyed and laid to  the side seems to have been well worth it. This criticizing we do of each other over the petty s*** is why "THEY" feel so comfortable attacking us so freely... we do it to eah other why can't they... THis s*** disgusts me!

I wish I had Gabby's hair length. My hair is healthy and full like hers and it's at the tip of my shoulders, but I want that darn length (ish taking too long to grow) lol

We all know why people choose to be a*******, at her age she dosent. Like I have been saying she is very talented.So your telling me 118 that at sixteen you understood why people were so judgemental and negative? I do know alot of athletes that trained for this years Olympic team, but they were adults and they understand the way media is and what it can do to a person.I never said anything negative about her, girls at her age talented or not still don't have that maturity level to understand.

@l8dy-c, believe me she's aware and she's mature enough to understand. She didn't use any gimmicks like extra long coloured nails or 1 legged tights (flo  jo) to draw attention to herself, it was on  pure talent. The ones going extra are the adults and they more than understand. Now leave his young woman alone. #itsonlyhair.

Now congratulate her and call it a day.
