I was on the side of the road  wit a flat tire. Hella niggas honking and trynna holla, and trynna get my number(with no success) but wasn't na'an nigga trynna pull over and help me out! Finally this older, raggedy, fat, white man pulled over to help a sister out!! i almost forgot what i was looking 4 n fell in love. i was SO disgusted wit black men that day! just sayin..

@peachsoda my dad taught me how to change a tire just for that reason. I have roadside assistance but if s*** really hits the fan i can do the s*** myself. smh

the absent father is an excuse.. my uncle is extremely handy and old school his son who is 25 can't even help cut the lawn at the very least. 

Its just being lazy

@balleralert girl i aint grow up wit no daddy... and damn sho don't own one of them crank things that lifts your car... i need to invest in som'n.. me n my moms is the only family we got in Georgia

agree to some degree...i think the new men and women are very privileged.  Me and my brother didnt have the luxury of owning brand new things, or having money to go out to expensive restaurants etc. so we either were taught or learned how to sew/cook/be handymen/fix cars/gardening/how to handle knives...guns/clean animals for hunting etc.  However, I will say the society we do live in somewhat negates us from teaching our children or making the children learn these things bc we're a society thats constantly on the go.  More than likely both men/women go to work for 8+ hrs a day so mom n dad is coming home at the same time so they go grab carryout.  Dad may work weekends or work crazy hrs so he pays the mexicans to cut the grass.  Mom works long hours as well so she has no time to sew or do the babies hair so she buys new clothes or pays lil shaniqua down the street to braid her hair.  So in some respect i agree but then again there is some surrounding factors that contribute to it.

and yes im still laughing @peachsoda calling a jack and a tire iron a "CRANK THING" lol...thas somethin my mom would say lol

to be honest w/ you all this stuff is crazy..you have both men n women in their mid 20s n 30s who couldnt pick up a needle n thread n fix a h*** in their sweater, prepare a simple meal, pump gas (yes i know 2 women who dont know how to do it).  I dont believe it makes you less of a man/woman if you dont know a few things, I honestly believe it makes you inefficient to a degree.  But then again some folks really dont nor care about doing things that our parents felt was their duty to know how to do.
