Meagan was born in Panorama City, California. She began her acting career at the age of four. By 10, she landing several television roles. Her breakout role came in 1997 with the film, Eve's Bayou.

She continued to land roles in television and films. She has also appeared in many music videos - Will Smith, 50 Cent, K-Ci & JoJo, and the R&B group Isyess (her older sister was a member).
