Earlier this week, while poking fun at Empire’s drop in ratings, 50 Cent announced that he would be developing a television show on FOX.
The comedy tv series is called “My Friend 50” and 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, teamed up with film producer Will Packer to create the show. Packer is known for comedies such as Ride Along, Think Like A Man, and The Wedding Ringer.
According to Deadline, “My Friend 50” follows the life of Amanda Kramer, a 20-something year old woman who feels that joining 50 Cent’s entourage is the answer to all her problems. Her unlikely journey with 50 Cent’s crew takes the form of a bizarre documentary commissioned by the most unreliable narrator in history: Amanda.
Sounds like 50 is tapping into an entirely different market than those who are used to watching Power. Will you be tuning in to “My Friend 50?”
