A PHOTOGRAPHIC TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL JACKSON...(PLEASE ADD)

  • Rating: 5 after 3 votes

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Michael Jackson. My greatest memories of him was when I was a child in single digits. I have 45' records I use to play on my record player of songs like "Enjoy Yourself" When he died I didn't think of the last 20 years were plastic surgery and troubles with the life...I thought about the man I loved as a child. In my lifetime I have never seen no one reach stardom like him. I'm glad that I saw him in concert. I seen grown men pass out and scream. It will never be another one like him...

Please add your favorite pictures and memories of Michael Jackson

Here is a little background of MJ

Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist, entertainer and businessman. The seventh child of the Jackson family, he made his début to the professional music scene at the age of 11 as a member of The Jackson 5 in 1969, and began a solo career in 1971 while still a member of the group. Referred to as the "King of Pop"[2] in subsequent years, his 1982 album Thriller is the world's best-selling record of all time[3] and four other solo studio albums are also among the world's best-selling records: Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995). In the early 1980s, he became a dominant figure in popular music and the first African-American entertainer to amass a strong crossover following on MTV. The popularity of his music videos airing on MTV, such as "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and Thriller—widely credited with transforming the music video from a promotional tool into an art form—helped bring the relatively new channel to fame. Videos such as "Black or White" and "Scream" made Jackson an enduring staple on MTV in the 1990s. With stage performances and music videos, Jackson popularized a number of physically complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. His distinctive musical sound and vocal style influenced many hip hop, pop and contemporary R&B artists. While Jackson was a member of Generation Jones [4][5], his influence impacted multiple generations. Jackson donated and raised millions of dollars for beneficial causes through his foundation, charity singles and support of 39 charities. Other aspects of his personal life, including his changing appearance and behavior, generated significant controversy, damaging his public image. Though he was accused of child sexual abuse in 1993, the criminal investigation was closed due to lack of evidence and Jackson was not charged. The singer had experienced health concerns since the early 1990s and conflicting reports regarding the state of his finances since the late 1990s. Jackson married twice and fathered three children, all of which caused further controversy. In 2005, Jackson was tried and acquitted of further sexual abuse allegations and several other charges.

One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records—including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"—13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career—more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era and the sale of 750 million records worldwide.[6] Jackson's highly publicized personal life, coupled with his successful career, made him a part of popular culture for almost four decades. Jackson died on June 25, 2009, aged 50.[7] The specific cause of death has yet to be determined.[2] Before his death, Jackson had announced a 50 date sell-out This Is It comeback tour, in London, England.[8]

OMG the top pic was plastered on my wall above my bed...I dreamt of marrying him as a lil girl. In 1984 I went to see him @ RFK stadium in DC. I had won tickets from People's Drugstore i sat in the 8th row. I remember thinking that MJ could put a spell on you & that is why the girls always passed out, I was scared I would pass out and miss something. I will never forget that night as long as I live.

The one with him in the yellow and white was the poster I had on my wall back in the day. I was just like any other teenage and preteen girl. I wanted to marry him. I remember asking my mom to buy me the Thriller album for Christmas. She wrapped up all the gifts and put them under the tree. I saw a present with my name on it and it looked liked an album. I tore back a little bit of the wrapping paper to take a peak and there it was....My Thriller album! Since it wasn't Christmas yet. I put the wrapping back on the present with a piece of tape to make it look like I didn't peak. When Christmas morning finally came around. That one present was the first one I went for. I rushed over and tore the paper off. To my surprise, there was an old BB King album inside the wrapping paper instead of Thriller. I yelled out "What happened to my Michael Jackson album?" My mother said, "How did you know Michael Jackson was in there?" LOL

Every time I think about that I laugh. My mother took a picture of that very moment that I opened that gift. I had beads in my hair and my mouth was all poked out. I was mad as hell. She eventually gave me the thriller album she had hid from me when she played that joke by switching the albums.

That's the way I want to remember him. The affect he had on me when I was growing up. I just want to thank him for letting a little girl dream.

Him Janet were so close...Just look at them..They were born to entertain...We get mad at Joe Jackson, but if he hadn't of pushed Michael, I don't think he would've had this kind of effect on people.
