Allen Iverson To Retire

This is really sad news for me to hear.  From about 2000 – 2004 I probably was the biggest Allen Iverson fan I knew. I loved everything about his intensity and passion on the court. When he said he didn’t need to practice, my impressional a** didn’t want to practice either. Allen was indeed the answer and was proven to be a GREAT ball player. Well after 15+ years of playing professional basketball, 14 of which he spent in the NBA, Allen “The Answer” Iverson has announced he is hanging up his jersey.

According to reports, 38 year old, 11-time All Star, Allen Iverson is prepared to announce his retirement from the NBA in a few days. Although it has not been without effort, he has come to terms with the fact that his playing career is finished. He hasn’t played in the NBA since 2010, and has not played professionally sine 2011 in Turkey.

Iverson, a former No. 1 overall pick out of Georgetown, was the 1997 Rookie of the Year, the 2001 MVP, a three-time All-NBA First-Team selection and a four-time scoring champion. His presence on the court will definitely be missed.
