Wow. This is hard for me to answer because I have a lot of issues with AFRICAN AMERICAN men, moreso than black men overall. Especially brothers under 40.

We live in an age where ALL women are hard on men, because I truly believe some men will not keep up with progress and want to strive for anything. Many can be old-fashioned, and still have that attitude of "if I bring home a check I've done my job". I feel that some AAM believe "if I bring you a check, I've done my job." I believe we allow them to make too many excuses to not be there or take the easy way out. Women of other races have high expectations for their men, AAM should be no different. I would love to explain more of how I feel, but I'd damn near write a thesis on this.

That was some straight b*******. When I read stuff like this it is baffling, because everyone knows women like this no matter the race. I am so tired of this "black woman ain't this or that". I know so many sweet, warm, and feminine black woman that can't find a man. Now that's a problem.

What gets me is how I'm always hearing black men say we don't cater to them, all I can think is: we allow you to walk out on your family, we allow you to trash us in your music and entertainment, we allow you to openly disrespect us in public. The problem is that we need to define "catering" to a man, because we've given them too much rope as it is.

I also find that most of these so called MEN that have these complaints about black women do not fare well with ANY women. They take the same relationship patterns with them from a sistah, to a Latina, to an Asian, and so on and so on. I believe many black men need to take a long look in the mirror before they go on and bash the women that have given them life and that swagger that hold on to so dearly.

Wow - I don't agree with his list, but I do agree that some black women have these qualities. Then again, a real man should not have a problem getting a good woman what ever her race may be....

Ditto to everything said. And also, women of all races need to stop putting up with bull that these men try to get past us. I'm not saying they all do, but most, if not all, of my latina and white friends put up with so much crap that I can't even fathom myself dealing with.

If one woman falls for their mess, men will expect all women to have never have a problem with this and fall for the same bulls*hit too.
