No not at all. I think my daughter will be the next big entertainer. So I put her in dance class and am sending her to performing arts school next year. I am not forcing her to go. But if you see your kid has talent or interest in something I feel like we should support them and not be dream killers. My moms kilt my dreams, so I want to do the opposite with my young one. Except when you molding them to make baby after baby and wait for the welfare check.

you raise your kids to be able to survive in the real world and live on their own and take care of themselves. if your focus is on "making a kid into a baller", thats your issue but its not healthy. no harm in signing a child up for sports if he/she actually enjoys playing the sport but common sense says dont force it if the child doesnt enjoy it.

Absolutely not. My mom is rich and had me in everything I showed interest in, in order to raise me to be able to afford the lifestyle she had me living. EVERYTHING. I modeled, played bball, swam, ran track,  and played tennis competitively. I went on to play in college, and quit because for the amount of wear and tear on the body, playing professionally wouldn't be nearly enough compensation. I also would've had to change my major in a career path that guarantees a high six fig salary off top, just to keep my athletic schedule. NO thanks. 

My parents were athletes, so if I have a son, he no doubt would have the chops to be good at something "ballerific." We'll just figure out what.
