Ashanti On Dating Nelly: "Who Says We Had A Relationship?"
Ashanti stopped by the Sway In The Morning show recently and when she was asked about her past relationship she immediately answers "Who says we had a relationship?" then went right into promoting her new album Braveheart.
Now, I'm not the type to read too much into anything but for several years now Ashanti and Nelly have been seen being very lovey dovey together. If that is not a "relationship" I would love for her to explain what her idea of a relationship is. Do you think Ashanti's answer was some type of a defense mechanism or do you think she truly was not in a relationship Nelly?

Ashanti is bitter that after giving Nelly 7 years of her life, it hasn't worked out. Check out Kenny Burns' Nelly interview about the drug charges. Ashanti is sitting right there with him in the studio.

Her shirt is ugly. But good for her. They never claimed they were in a relationship and he always said she made the rules or whatever. I guess he just got tired of playing around with her.

Ha, I think it was a defense mechanism, but they did play it smart. Because technically I don't recall either of them "saying" they were in a relationship with each other... so it leaves the option open for them to call it whatever they want now. Cute..
