Baller Behind The Scenes: Tory Dandy

At just 34 years old, Tory Dandy (pictured right) is perhaps one of the youngest African-American certified NFL agents in the country. He currently works at top sports company, Relativity Sports, under the guidance of top African America agent, Eugene Parker and has signed 2 top 5 picks in his career thus far. Tory’s clients include 2014 #4 overall pick, wide receiver, Sammy Watkins (Buffalo Bills) and 2009 #3 overall pick, Tyson Jackson (Atlanta Falcons).

Beyond that, he’s beaten the odds of a life of crime from his hometown of Woodruff, SC, and actively gives back to the community by running his own football camp for underprivileged kids.

Tory never let being the product of a single parent home hold him back.  “I read and hear about a lot of young men that try to make their fathers a scapegoat of why they can’t be successful, but my mother never let me use that he wasn’t apart of my life as an excuse. My mother worked two or three jobs. She worked hard, she sacrificed, and she was a praying mother.”

Tory has always been fond of sports, as an athlete himself. His dreams of playing football professionally came to a halt when he suffered a torn ligament in his shoulder. He shifted his attention to his major in Business Management and minor in Sports Management while attending Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN. In 2004 he earned his MBA and soon took an internship at Synergy Sports. After a year interning, he was later promoted to Director of Recruiting. In 2006 he landed a job as Director of Recruiting with Maximum Sports with veteran agents Eugene Parker and Roosevelt Barnes and in 2009 at the young age of 29 years old, Dandy, had the #3 overall pick with client Tyson Jackson. After a very successful run at Maximum Sports, he joined Relativity Sports in 2013.
