For Women Who Want The Ballerific Life!
I haven't built up the courage to jump on the "no heel" trend just yet. Not because I am afraid to be daring, more so because I am afraid to take a tumble and bust my head open. I just now got comfortable with the "wedge" look and it has taken me a bit to completely fall in love with the heel-les look. I will say this though, it has happened, I'm definitely in love.
Two brands that do the 'no heel' justice are Guiseppe Zanotti and the less expensive yet just as popular, Jeffrey Campbell. Both designers put a lot of thought into embellishments whether it be stones or spikes. Both have made a name for themselves with this popular style. For those who can't afford $3,000 Guiseppe's, a pair of $200 Jeffery Campbell's are sure to get the job done.
This look is not for the faint of heart. The type of woman who can pull of a heel-less shoe is usually a bit daring. She also needs to be able to properly balance out a bit of plain jane with this look. Too much going on with the outfit can definitely clash with the shoes.
Great thing about Guiseppe is that they have figured out a dozen different ways to create the heel-less look. There's almost a heel-less shoe for every type of woman.
Although I don't own a pair of heel-less shoes YET, I can definitely tell you that the design of the shoe shows it was created with comfort in mind. The wedge design makes what visually looks like a 6 inch heel an actual 2 inch heel. Platforms have been an age old trick in obtaining height and comfort at the same time. The lack of a heel is actually an illusion as well. If you pay close attention the platform extends nearly to the back of the shoe. Only about an inch of your foot is actually heel-less.
Have you hopped on the no heel trend yet? Who are some of your favorite designers?
