BALLERIFIC MUSIC REVIEW: KERI HILSON..IN A PERFECT WORLD
Many know Keri Hilson for the exceptional songwriter she is, however, what about Keri, the artist? She's definitely more than a pretty face & like most, she has a story to tell. Releasing In a Perfect World a labyrinth of tracks, she speaks on love, female independence & catering to your significant other.
With production heavily from Timbaland, Polow da Don & Danja, Keri has all the proponents to a platinum selling record, or does she? For this to be her debut, I'd expect less features, for the mere fact, I'm interested in feeling out Keri as an artist. Laced with bass thumping, up & mid-tempos, this album has tracks that definitely make you dance, such as Get Your Money Up feat. Keyshia Cole & Trina & Return the Favor.
The highlights of the album come in the ballads Slow Dance, & Make Love of which her special man is the object of her affection. Ladies, pay close attention to these lyrics. We've all been in a position in which we've chosen the easier road in lying vs. the truth, on Tell Him the Truth, perhaps my personal favorite outside of Make Love. Another track to look out for is Knock You Down feat Kanye & Ne-Yo.
This album will definitely have to grow on me, given my anticipation for it was so high. This album was a solid effort in bringing Keri to the forefront. She's beautiful & very talented with a voice that is angelic in sound, however, she should come harder the next go round if she wants to separate herself from other mainstream artists.

It's cool. I'm just saying Keri does nothing for me. A lot of these chicks nowadays have the same or similar sounds. I want more of the old Whitney, Mary J, Mariah, EnVogue, etc.

I love Keri Hilson, she has talent & I do agree not album she should go harder & do more; but she has so much potential. I love the album though & my favorite tunes are "Tell Him The Truth", "Make Love" & "Intuition". I wish the best of luck! P.S. Kanye does look good!! Smooches & Blessings!!
