Queen Latifah has entered our homes for years with roles in “Set it Off,” “Bone Collector,”, “Last Holiday” and of course her two-season run of “The Queen Latifah Show”. Now, she is gearing up to star in the HBO Biopic of blues singer Bessie Smith. In an exclusive interview with “The Lowdown with Diana Madison,” Queen Latifah chatted about her journey, inspirations and hopes for 2015.
On her Journey: “Life is a journey, I’ve kind of taken it one step at a time. I’ve had to many of the “pinch me” moments, I’m expecting more.”
What keeps her inspired: “Honestly, I pray always to stay open, you know. If you’re always learning something new then you can be inspired. I don’t kind of sit and look at the past.”
Hopes for 2015: “You know what I’m looking forward to so many new things. The only thing I know for sure is coming out right now is Bessie Smith. The movie is coming out on HBO probably around March, and so I’m looking forward to kind of making it the best it can be, and making sure everybody knows about it.”
