Every day there’s a new social media app for one to indulge in and with every app, there’s a lost young lady looking to use it as a come up. Some financial (which I’m all here for) and others for popularity. But what happens when her appearance online doesn’t match what she looks like offline? You may be dealing with a Catfish. I’ve compiled a list to help you determine whether the Instagram Honey you’ve been lusting for is truly who she appears to be.
– Watch For Curved Walls – With photoshopping apps right at our fingertips, it doesn’t take much for women to digitally create smaller waists, bigger hips and bigger butts. In fact, some apps can pretty much recreate your entire face. One tell tale sign of digital body modification are curved walls/doorways, sunken in chairs and blurred lines around the body.
– Heads Up – This one can be tricky because it’s not 100%. Many times if a woman ONLY takes pics from the neck up, chances are she may be hiding a gut from the chest down. That’s the theory, anyway. It’s not always true, but it’s been proven more often than not. Keep in mind, the higher the position of the camera in her selfies, the bigger the double chin. Also be careful of the women who only take pics in a certain pose or angle. If she takes ALL her pics from the left, it’s because she’s ugly from the front. If she always makes a duck face and never smiles, her teeth may not be up to par.
– Laying In Bed – if a girl continuously takes the infamous “laying in the bed in my bra” pic…her boobs probably sag & thats the only way she can make em look perky. Stay woke.
– Filter Crazy – if ALL of her pics are instagram filtered, ya girl has bad skin or she’s lighter, darker, or more off colored than she appears. Filters are cool but let’s be real, we can’t wear filters in real life. Feel free to tone them down a notch every now and then.
– Solo Selfies – If all she has are selfies, she’s probably a catfish. That, or she’s the only one who can capture her beauty on camera. On the flip side, if all of her photos are professional photos, you may not be speaking to the girl in the pics. You may be speaking to a hairy, elderly man or Chris Hanson. Also beware of girls who don’t have any photos with other people. No reason in particular, just something isn’t right about her.
These are just a few things to look out for, and it’s all in fun so please don’t get in your feelings because you fit one or all of the criteria above. What are some other things you should look out for when trying to spot a Catfish?
