BLACK WOMEN IS IT TRUE YOU HAVE TO BE “EXOTIC” TO SNAG A BALLER? **UPDATED**

It was all started by the white man. It’s been a problem since the beginning of time. It started during slavery when the light skin blacks were the house slaves, and the darker ones were in the field. It’s sad that it was started back in the slavery days, and we are still on it.
For those who might not know what exotic is let me explain: Exotic means " introduced from another country : not native to the place where found : foreign, alien 3: strikingly, excitingly, or mysteriously different or unusual." Baller Alert profiles hip hop models because they are a part of the whole baller and groupie culture. Every hip hop model biography has said that they were exotic. Every single one talked about how they were ¼ this and ¼ that. By looking at them, most look black, but they always claimed to be mixed with something. It reminds me of when I was growing up and it was cool to have Indian in your family. It was the business. Or if you had good hair, the kids would say, you must have Indian in your family.
Hip Hop has a lot to do with it. Hip Hop has glorified these women, by having them in a room with a bunch of regular looking men. Funny thing is, if they were average joes these women wouldn’t pay them any attention. Looking at the videos on 106 and Park, most of them have an exotic leading lady. They are never just black. I think that this is embedded in our heads now. For so long the light skin black, was deemed as superior to the whole race – thanks to Spike Lee movies like School Daze (Wannabees and Jiggaboos) and Jungle Fever (black man leaving his wife for an exotic beauty), the black woman is screwed. Black women now have to compete with these exotic beauties.
One of our mentors and icons to the hip hop community P Diddy set a bad example for our men. His long time girl friend Kim Porter, who is a beautiful black woman was dogged by Diddy. He left her twice – both for exotic beauties JLo and Cassie.
I know a guy, who was happily married until an exotic woman showed him some interest. He cheated on his wife, and ruined his family for this girl. He has been quoted as saying that he is not a great looking guy, but he managed to snag an exotic model beauty. Needless to say, his exotic beauty is an illegal alien that is just trying to get her green card.
So, what do you think? Do you have to be exotic to snag your baller? I sit here trying to think of women who actually snagged a baller and they weren't mixed with something. Tell me if I'm wrong. Help me create this list. Celebrity women who married ballers don't count. Sorry, what you got?

I can't be anybody BUT me - so I can't worry about if I'm exotic enough for the next baller..
Although, I will say this - when I was younger, I used to wish that I was the "cassie" type because that's what the guys seemed to gravitate towards..I grew out of it when I realized that I was cute in my own right. However, I do have a dark skinned friend from college that is gorgeous to me..but she hates going out with me because I'm lighter - so she says the dudes pay her no attention or only think of her as a one night stand, where they try to wife me sooner rather than later. I told her that its her mindstate - what you put out is what you get.

Ok clearly you didn't get the deeper meanings of films like School Daze and Jungle fever. Spike was exploring the problem, not glorfying it at all. keyshawn's ex wife was not dark skin (I assume you're speaking of Shikrir (sp) )
Now that thatpart is out of the way, this has beenan ongoing issue in the black community forever BUT, i also think if you look at it now, there are "video girls" of every hue that are garnering attention of these men. At the end of the day, pretty is pretty and most guys will go for that. Its not going to go away easily (we're still discussing it after 500 plus years) but I also think that women have to stop feeding into it as well and learn about playing up their best attributes to get what they want.

I had help with this blog from a few woman....all the views are not mine.
I don't think Denzel and Michael count....they had wives before the exotic craze. And look who Michael creeps with now...
At first it was the light skin women...now it's exotic.
@Barbie - You are not the only one who thinks like that....last time I was in New York on 125th street...I saw bootleg colored contacts. They were selling them out of a plastic bag like they were hustling cigarettes.

well then no, I absloutely don't believe you have to be exotic to snag a baller, In all honesty cassie is a beautiful girl, who is young and in entertainment, I don't think she would be dating anything other than a baller...and the two images you provided go against what you are saying...because Cassie and Kimora were both in the industry as models before they got snagged, Kobe's wife would be a better example...
Paul Pierce's mate isn't "exotic" neither is Lebrons girl....
The reality is a certain "look" opens upi the door for many, and yes there is an "exotic" craze of sorts happening, but You don't have to be exotic to snag a baller....

Cassie was an established model for Target, JC Penny, Delhia's ect and she is a "singer"
Russell first spotted Kimora on a runway, no? She was a muse for Karl Laggerfeld....
That is why I said Vanessa Bryant would be a better example....
And Shaunie O'neal is not exotic....

You don't HAVE to be exotic to snag a baller. But that does make it a WHOLE lot easier.. My video homegirl said it like this....
"Lets say today you shopping for something to wear to the club. Where you shopping at? Bebe, Macys, Some mom&pop discount store? Ask your self that.
Now by some chance you hit the lotto for 85 Million dollars. Three weekends later your ass out shopping again. Where you shopping at? Everyone know you got money. Your friends, your family, media? Everyone looking at you. What you got? What you gonna get? What you gonna be wearing? You still gonna shop at Bebe?"
Them ballers see females the same way. Fortunately, a few of them are comfortable enough with themselves to be who they are. They are satisfied to know that "Chic, if you didnt WANT me then, you don't NEED me now". However, most of them feel that exotic, "modelesque", women (and white women) were out of their reach before and now that they have the means (funds) to attract them, thats what they are gonna get. Its like a status symbol. Sort of like buying a REALLY expensive car. In the end most of them learn their lessons. Thats just the way it is.
Theres this guy in our town thay play NBA ball now, hes far from a superstar though. In high school he was after this Mexican/Italian girl. That bitch wouldnt give him the time of day. Her dad had told someone that he better not catch that "Nigger" talking to his daughter. Now why is this nigga screwing this chick and breaking her off (and yes, her family know)? It so sad how soon they forget. DUMMMIES!
