If he can't get along with my family he can't get along with me. I'm very close with my family so I couldn't hide him all the time. And my family is very open and accepting, so it's not like they are rigid and if they don't like someone there is a real reason behind that. We don't like my sisters husband, but as long as he is not doing her wrong we deal with him.

 It's almost impossible.. not sayin there is not a slim chance this could jus be a fluke and u both could possibly live happily ever after.. but more so it's jus bad karma.

Im not super-tight with my family, but a man would have to get along with my family for us to be able to be together. In my teens & early 20's, for the most part when my father didnt like someone, it was for good reason & he ALWAYS turned out to be right. So I pretty much make it a point to get his opinion now, even though I am an adult capable of making sound, pretty good decisions.

I could care less because my family is small and we dont give a SHAT what the other does in their personal lives.  However I will say that because of the over-tightness of my ex's fam thats one of the reasons that pushed me away from her.  The fact that her family had a say so in our relationship, and that she couldnt move w/o hearing their advice

Of course, the only sensible answer was from the brother. Why? Cause niggas will be the first to tell the women they love-- Baby, I don't give a damn what your family think cause its about you and me. Women always tryna get people to like each other.

If the fam don't like him.. keep it movin! Just like if it was the other way around. That's why we always the one single. Black women can't just be easy.

A member of my family has been married to his wife for about 30 years... Him & his mom are/were very close. His mother couldn't STAND her... I'm not sure they like each other now, but they respect each other.

If I'm thinking of a relationship/marrying the guy then no. If my family doesn't like him then there is a reason that will be come evident pretty soon. That has just been my experience. I don't kick them out I just sit back and observe. Eventually I figure out what everyone else already knew.
