Ok so excuse me for not excited...but in super anti-climatic news, rookie wide receiver Michael Crabtree has agreed to terms with the San Francisco 49er's.
It really seems ironic to me that now since the 49er's are 3-1 and are playing great football, he suddenly wants to make a deal five weeks into the football season. No training camp, no preseason or live game action for this guy since November 2008 and I'm supposed to be impressed. NOT!
From the USA Today:
The Michael Crabtree saga is over. The 49ers confirmed the signing of the 10th overall draft pick to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat on early Wednesday morning after a 71-day holdout.
The paper reported Crabtree should be at practice on Wednesday.
The contract is for six years.
Crabtree went to San Francisco on Tuesday and began negotiating with 49ers officials after a month-long standoff. His advisors had suggested Crabtree would sit out the season and re-enter the draft if the 49ers didn't offer favorable financial terms. -- Sean Leahy
Hope he plays some phenomenal football once he gets himself together, because if not I feel that this holdout will plague him for years to come. Definitely happy that he did decide to resolve this ordeal once and for all though and not hold out for the entire 2009 season. Good luck to him and the 49ers!
