“Dear White People” Becomes A Netflix Series

The film “Dear White People” which starred Tessa Thompson, Teyonah Parris, Tyler James Williams, and Brandon P. Bell, will be revamped into a Netflix original series. Justin Simien, the screenwriter/director of the 2014 film, will be writing the 10-episode comedy for Netflix.

Much like the film, the series will follow a group of students of color as they navigate their way through a predominately white Ivy League college.  The film dealt with differences in society as they pertained to race, sexuality and interracial relationships.

It’s unclear whether the film’s original cast will return for the series, but what we do know is that the projected debut is in early 2017.
