DL Hughley Releases A Statement After Offensive Domestic Abuse Comments

“Last week during an after-show segment of my radio show, The DL Hughley Show, I unintentionally offended some people,” DL Hughley says of a statement he released today after offending tons of women with his comments on Columbus Short’s wife, calling her a thirsty bitch who should have kept her mouth shut about her domestic abuse. The controversial comments sparked someone to create a petition to get DL Hughley off air which took the internet by storm.

In regards to Columbus Short’s legal issues, I jumped to a conclusion and blamed Tanee-Mccall Short; and I’m sorry. My intent was not to quiet victims. When I did speak of the topic on air, I repeatedly emphasized then, and as I do now, that anyone who is convicted of domestic violence, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law; and that is what I believe.”

This is where DownLow Hugely should just stop talking. He took a topic he knew nothing of, blamed the victim, then said she should have kept her mouth shut and let Columbus keep bringing home those Scandal checks. Because obviously, her life is worth less than a check every Thursday night.  And this statement, was it supposed to be an apology, because it wasn’t. You can’t say “anyone who is convicted of domestic violence should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law” while in the same breath saying a victim should have kept her mouth shut. I guess she should have let him kill her, himself and their child too.

You don’t have the answers DL.
