I think people just need shit to talk about sometimes. I'm a brown skin gal on the darker side and I've never felt "inferior" to a red bone chic. Beauty is beauty - and I highly doubt any truly beautiful chocolate, bronze or brown skin model/actress would get passed on a role simply because she isn't light skin. Melyssa Ford sounded like a complete AIRHEAD - if anyone should know that, it should be her. Just like you have your Halle Berrys, Jada Pinketts, Lala Racheons (sp)... you have your Gabrielle Unions, Meagan Goods and Angela Bassetts. Dark skin girls do have a place in the video vixen world (i.e. Bria Myles, Angel Lola, Glenn Twins, etc.). I think it's black folks who won't allow this complex to go away - and sitting in front of the television watching 106th & Park "counting" the number of dark skin girls they see isn't going to help! Hell if we want to talk about putting someone on a pedastal Ms. JoyDaily, our President's wife is a dark skinned sista - we have the ULTIMATE honor!

I'm so happy were on this topic. Now i can let out ALL my feelings and opinions, My name is Shay, im 20 y/o from longisland NY. rasied in Brooklyn Ny, and only lived on LI for 2 yrs now...ANYWAY's long story short.

I can relate to "Woman of color"/ Black woman, b/c I am a blk female myself. And to my knowledge MOST "BLACK MEN" truely DONT appreciate US. They continue to carry on and feel proud of being in a relationship w/ anything thats NOT BLACK. from the poor blk men to the ones w/ money! I truely dont agree w/ them dateing interracially and leaveing blk women w/ no real choice but to date outside her race. even if she doesnt really want to...
and i also blame both blk men and non-black females (light skin fem.) for encourageing blk men to dis-like blk woman. cause i realized if you even go and say "HI" to a blk man, a non- blk woman would pass by and get very angry (this is in public) and give that blk man a look. like they shouldnt date inside their race or that (light skin woman would then begain to flirt w/ him) makeing his ego feel that, they should be w/ a light skinned woman b/c of the BLACK & WHITE Skin CONTRAST. its stupid but thats what the deal is....ppl say im a very intooned person and i truely am. b/c i watch peoples reactions in everyday life esp. blk men towards blk females or towards myself. and its alot of hatetred and being on that light skinned females side b/c of the interracial tabboo. plus they want our men for their BBC " BIG BLK COCK" go to craigslist (casual encounter section) and type in BBC. its a shame! you know what this white man told me, sisters? Another thing black people dont have any unity. thats also what causes alot of interracial dateing, if we cant even get along as a people. how can we make familys or rather raise a family. I personally dont like BLACK AND OR CAUCASIAN FEMALES IN GENERAL b/c blk females act intimidated by caucasain females well MOST, NOT ALL, CAUSE NOT ME LOL...I'M NOT EVEN AFRIAD OF MY OWN MAMA LOL seriously...were no slaves and all the ppl who were born after slavery was made ilegal never were slaves. so why be afraid of someone b/c their light skinned and walking your way lol...another thing i dislike caucasian females b/c they wanna take over black men (BBC) lol and the legacy of being a blk woman, i say this b/c their getting tans to look darker as we all know, getting sugery for fuller lips and ass (yes girl! lol) and even haveing children by blk men such as halle berry, obama our president and so many others ...so when a light skin females kid comes out with color. weather it being a black female like halle or a black male like obama. that same hatetred shed on others for being dark or whatever isnt too far from the nest...and remember both halle berry and obama, both came from a pale white woman lol...so yeah like this blk man told me, who by the way has 2 daughters by 2 spanish woman (which i hate spanish females, their the most jealous/ SUPPOSEABLY RACIST/ BUT LUV BLK MEN LOL out of all caucasian females) that blk dude said to me, by the wold being so interracial. thats whats going to make this world mixed. that was just his quick answer to avoid what i was getting at. why arent blk woman a blk mans first choice? As adults we can say to hell with them because we know better.
However, their core audience is young, impressionable and multiracial. And these kids take all they see in the videos and live out these 'fantasies'. We just have to teach our children better.


It's not just in the videos, we see 90% of the commercials on TV are not representative of the population at large.

I used to be all up in the light skin dark skin argument but now im older I have learnt to deal with because it will always be there you cant change it. I just say if your a bad bitch it doesnt matter what colour you are someone with find you attractive and you will come across some idiot that only has an eye for light skin exotic girl but fuck him and keep it moving, no use crying over split milk.

If white girls can deal with the blonde vs brunette thing then i think we can deal with this.

But in saying that I do agree with Spicey people of all shades of colour need to represented more because Children are getting a skewed view of the world which isnt right
