Ask and ye shall receive. I figure that's what 18 year old Detroit teen Anthony Nelson was thinking when he asked Basketball Wives Star Evelyn Lozada to be his date to the prom. Evelyn, who has been going through a lot in the last few months was surprised when she received the tweet from the teen.

"Since your single now, wanna go to prom with me,” to which she responded, “when is it? lol.” The two exchanged tweets for a while, where he requested that she wear a red dress. She referred the young teen to her publicist who would set the entire thing up.

Was Evelyn doing this young teen a favor by accepting his proposal or did he in fact do her a favor? The Basketball Wives LA star explained why she accepted the fan's invitation in a recent blog post:

"I have to say that I’m very excited because I was just asked to the prom by one of my Twitter followers named Anthony and I gladly accepted! The reason why I’m so excited is because I never had the opportunity to attend my own prom. During that time of my life, I was becoming a teenage mom and pregnant with my daughter Shaniece.

I’m very happy to know that Anthony is attending his prom and graduating high school, what a beautiful accomplishment. I encourage all of you to stay in school and attend college! There is nothing better than having an education and bright future.

Help me countdown to PROM! Anthony and I are going to do it BIG at West Bloomfield High School June 2013! I will keep you updated throughout the year on our plans and what I may wear. I may even have you guys choose the dress for me! All I know is that Anthony wants me to wear red and he is wearing black/white! :)

Anthony later took to his Twitter to say "Never in my life have I been so happy." Evelyn is even letting her Twitter followers help her decide what dress to wear. I think this is the cutest thing and was very nice for her to do. The Bloomfield High School prom is June 20, 2013. Hope they take lots of pics!
