Ex-NBA Player Daniel Orton Kicked Off Basketball Team In Philippines For Dissing Pacquiao

Players in the Philippines don’t play around when it comes to Manny Pacquiao. Just ask Daniel Orton who got kicked off the Purefoods Star Hotshots team for insulting the boxer.

“Everyone is angry at him… it is like he went to the United States and insulted the name of Martin Luther King,” Purefoods team governor Rene Pardo said.

What did Orton say? Well, he insulted Pacquiao’s hoop game. Pacquiao, who stands a whopping the 5’6″,  is a player-coach for the Kia Carnival. He made his debut with the team back in October 2014 and let’s face it, he’s not all that great. As far as Orton is concerned, it’s a joke that he even plays in the league. “Professional boxer, yeah, okay… professional basketball player, no. It’s a joke,” Orton said. Those comments landed Daniel Orton a  $5,650 fine (250,000 Filipino pesos) and the boot.

You know you done f*cked up right?
