Former Bad Boy Intern Suing Diddy

Rashida Salaam is a former unpaid intern with Bad Boy Entertainment who took the intern job with the company from January 2012 to May 2012. According to Rashida, she had a hard time. Although she wasn’t asked to walk to Brooklyn for cheesecake, the young girl states that she was forced to answer telephones, get lunch and coffee for paid employees, make deliveries, wrap presents and decorate the office during holidays. Even worse, she says she wasn’t paid!

Wait….an unpaid intern was asked to make deliveries, get lunch, answer phones and grab coffee? Who does Diddy think he is!

This brings me to a point that I’ve noticed in recent times. Some of these young kids don’t want to have to work for anything. Granted some internships are paid, most are not. Diddy once started as an unpaid intern, now look at him. Everyone feels that they should be paid in money when the experience and the credentials are just as valuable. A young college kid getting to work in the Bad Boy offices is a lucky college kid. Some of these kids have to be taught that you WORK for what you want. Sometimes you go years at the bottom before it finally pays off but it is well worth it. If you go in feeling entitled, you’ve already set yourself up for failure.

According to TMZ, unpaid internship laws have changed. You can no longer offer free labor for course credit. Well, I thought that’s what Internships were. I guess Diddy should have paid her in Ciroc and sent her on her way.
