Ginuwine was met with a lot of blacklash from fans (and his wife Sole) after he made a joke on Instagram that his daughter, Cypress, may be a stripper. You can read about that HERE. After his wife and fans said their piece, Ginuwine (neglecting all use of punctuation) responds, saying that it was all jokes and we are idiots who need a sense of humor.
“To all the idiots that can’t take a joke I gave my daughter this money and said something stupid that I thought people would be able to take for a joke wow these days you really got to be careful what you say i mean do you actually think I would be calling my daughter anything other than my angel sorry CyCy”
Here’s the thing, I think most people knew it was a joke and if they didn’t, once Sole responded it was clear it was a joke. The problem people had? It was a distasteful joke to make about your teen daughter. Sprinkling money around her, taking a photo, uploading it TWICE to social media and insinuating she was a stripper — all for LIKES? Not cute. To basically say “I would expect people other than just me to find it funny I called my daughter a stripper” is a bit absurd. He should have just apologized and not tried to blame everyone else for his bad joke. That said, he has since deleted the photos.
