Greg Oden Arrested For Punching Ex-Girlfriend In The Face

Former number one draft pick, Greg Oden, was arrested in Indianapolis on battery charges for allegedly punching his ex-girlfriend in the face. He has since been released on a $10,000 bond.

Police were called to a Lawrence area home around 3:30am where they found a 24 year old woman on the couch with a bloody, swollen face. Her friend told officers Oden, who played for the Miami Heat last season, punched her. The woman, on the other hand, was uncooperative, telling officers she had fallen but was unable to say where she had fallen.

Oden told officers he and the girl had dated for 2 years and split about two months ago. He said they were arguing and “things got out of control” . He said that he did not mean to strike her, but that he accidentally hit her when trying to break free of two people holding him back. Someone should have told him the “she fell” story so he could stick to it.

According to friends and relatives of Oden, “every time the two visit and go out, there is an argument to follow.” It’s actually very sad that the girl would attempt to cover for him but then again, this is how it happens more often than not.
