Hot! or Not Featuring Acrylic Earrings

Happy Monday ladies and Gents! I came across a few items via Instagram that actually inspired me to write a hot or not blog post. One of the most popular trends that I have noticed via social media are acrylic earrings.
In my opinion, this has to be one of the most unfashionable items I have laid my eyes on. When it comes to fashion and/or accessories, I look for uniqueness as well as fashionable. Some of these items are not an everyday wear and shouldn't be worn as such (my opinion).
I have noticed these earrings have all types of colors, pictures, profanity, and more.  I posted the pic above via my Instagram to ask some of our readers their thoughts on this particular trend and here is what they had to say:
"Ummm no, I hate them, they're so ratchet. I don't know why people like them. There's nothing classy about them."
" They're so cheap looking… I'll pass on this trend."
"I don't like them for me, but I can see them for an urban editorial moment."
They have even extended to necklaces as well.
In my opinion, this is not hot. I see absolutely no originality in this pieces. They are NOT fashionable. What are your thoughts? Is this a trend that you follow?

whenever i want "fun" ear rings i just buy from Melody Ehsani. Hers are fun without looking like you bought them from the beauty supply store.

I love Melody Ehsani but a lot of this other stuff is getting completely out of hand. Those big ass tacky necklaces that say SWAG, BAD B****, and the fake Chanel ones. Ugh!

I don’t like them at all, never have. I remember when Rich G started making these, I thought the trend would die loll. They’re coo for the High School Kids tho….

I noticed that on Instagram if a person has a small follower count that their word somehow mean less than someone with a lot of followers.
