For Women Who Want The Ballerific Life!
Last night history was made when Nina Davuluri, Miss New York, was crowned winner of the 2014 Miss America pageant. Nina Davuluri is the first contestant of Indian descent to be crowned Miss America. As beautiful as she is, you should see the comments made all across the nation, some even asking to see paperwork proving she is an American citizen.
Let me get this right, a real American has blonde hair, blue eyes, tan skin and weighs 90lbs? In 2014 Miss America can't be Indian but the past Miss America's can be Dutch, German, Polish, so on and so forth? Do you mean in the days where racism is supposed to be "non-existent" that a young lady with darker skin than you isn't allowed to beat out her blonde haired competitors legitimately? Newsflash: Your family got here by train, ship and airplane JUST like hers did. America is no more your country than it is hers. Grown adults calling her Arab, Al-Qaeda and the like should be ashamed of themselves. This is where the children are getting it from, the buffoons they call parents.
Hey Dummies, America was built by immigrants. You come from a long line of immigrants and I hope you sleep terribly at night knowing that your president has Kenyan blood and the new face of America is Indian. I also hope you realize that Indians had nothing to do with 9/11 and that white people aren't the only folks who died that day. It's no one's fault that the girl is gorgeous. In fact, I hope that pageants continue to change the skewed standard of beauty and continue to show darker, more ethnic women as beautiful.
And for those of you guys so butt hurt that Miss Kansas didn't win...
I think the right choice was made. Congratulations Miss New York!
