INTERCEPTED: Terrell Owens Discusses Black Women

If you're a fan of the T.O. Show you're not alone. Vh1 has seemingly swooped in and worked their PR magic on a man often described as a character with no soul that is a cancer to the NFL teams he's played for. Terrell Owen's & T.O. are often been separated with the latter being portrayed as the evil alter ego to someone who would otherwise be a normal guy with tremendous athletic ability and success.
On the show Terrell is surrounded by his 2 friends and publicist, Kita Williams & Monique Jackson aka Kita & Mo, who he calls his best friends and guardian angels. With his humble beginnings as a poor Alabama kid one would think that he would FLOCK to other African American women with whom he finds tremendous trust and admiration from based on the examples he has in his life. Well one would be WRONG if you dug into his dating track record. BUT is the perception that Terrell Owens is giving off correct or just inaccurate?
Essence Magazine recently sat down and discussed many topics with the controversial athele, but his openess regarding his true feelings about African American women may surprise many of you.
ESSENCE.COM: Speaking of women, a lot of sisters believe you don't have an interest in Black women. Is that the case? OWENS: Not at all. Black women I do love you. Honestly, if I were to reveal the Black females I've dated, the women who are accusing me of that would be surprised. I've had a lot of Black women hit me up on Twitter accusing me of not liking my own kind and all I have to say is that they are thinking too much. These women don't know me like that to have something negative to say about the women I date. Perhaps I have a certain type of woman that I like and a preference and I shouldn't be faulted for that. And for the record, I'm very familiar with headscarves because my grandmother wore them. I was just saying to Kiya that the women I date don't wear them because it's the truth. If I'm dating a Black woman and we hang out it doesn't mean she's sleeping over, so I might never see her in a headscarf. Again, I think some women are thinking too much about this because I love Black women.

The show has completely changed my perception of Terrell as I'm sure it has for many others. But this interview also has changed my assumption of him, when it comes to his view on African American women. Terrell Owens is alot of things but he's not a liar and I believe his answer to Essence to be true. I think this show was the best thing he could have done for himself. He's no longer allowing ESPN and the NFL Network to tell his story...he's telling it himself and I for one am impressed!

Did you guys see the last episode where the other girl was all rude to his date and TO was like its you or her and she says im not goin nowhere.. That irrated me becuz i was liek yea bitch you aint goin nowhere becuz hes your meal ticket too!! just a quick vent
