“What ya’ll still together?! Black have you lost your mind?!”
“No I haven’t lost my mind we have worked out our differences and now everything is fine.”
“See Shaleef if Jack can work out his differences with whoever he is with why can’t you do the same with Katherine?” his mother asked.
“Katherine and I are a completely different story. Besides we like the arrangement that we have now.”
“You call staying at her house and sleeping there when you want to an arrangement? You do know that since you don’t want to marry her that she can have other men around her house?” his mother asked him.
“Hell no she is not bring no other man …”
“See this is what I mean! You care about her so marry her of something but stop the bullshit.”
“Marry? Ma come on…”
“Then why do every time I tell you that she is going out with someone you get jealous? You know what I’m let you figure this one out on your own but stop coming over every time she has company.”
“She told you?”
“Shaleef…you idiot son of mine of course she told me. Unlike Almira I like her.”
“Are we done chastising him now I would like to eat in peace?” Nasser said.
“I with da…” Jack started until his mother looked over at him with a heard look.
“Let’s eat besides the boys here don’t need hear any more of this.”
“You’re right husband let’s eat and afterward you will do the dishes.” She said.
“Why do I have to do the dishes?”
“Because I said you will.”
Nasser shook his head. “Shaleef when we’re done you will wash the dishes.”
“Huh?”
“You heard me.”
“But ma said…” he started.
“And I finished.”
Shaleef shook his head and turned to Jack. “Black Jack when we finish you will wash the dishes and give me 20 bucks for gas.”
“Are you out of your mind? How about this you do the dishes and I watch the game?” Jack reasoned.
“Well that sounds like a very one sided deal Black so hear this one out. You wash the dishes, fill up my car with gas and….what else?”
“Tell Dad to let us stay up late.” Jacob offered.
“You stay out of this.” Jack said to his son. “No Dad told you to wash the dishes so do it.”
“No I’m older than you so you should do what I say and I say you wash the dishes.”
“I’m not washing the dishing the dishes you wash them and I’m not putting gas in your car.”
“Oi all I wanted to do was eat my dinner in peace.” Nasser said quietly as Shaleef and Jack continued going back and forth.
“Hey You still owe me for that time…”
“Oh no that was your fault…..just go wash the dishes like dad told you.”
“No why don’t you do them for once?”
“Because I always washing them!”
“See what you started woman. Now I’ll never have peace.” Nasser said to his wife.
“No see what you started. If you had just said yes I’ll wash the dishes then none of this would have happened.” She reasoned.
“If you hadn’t told me to wash them maybe I would have just washed them.” He countered.
“Hey Horace you think if we left the table and went to watch tv they notice?” Jacob asked.
“Probably not…wann go for it?”
“Yeah let’s go they’re gonna be awhile.Jacob and his brother started easing out of their seats but Jack turned around quickly.
“I didn’t tell you can leave…finish you dinner and you can do the dishes.”
“Aww man.”Horace said.
“But dad….” Jacob started.
“Come now Black don’t push your responsibilities on them.” Shaleef said.
“hen you do the dishes and it is not my responsibility to wash dishes.”
“That is it I have had enough. All of you are washing the dishes.” Their mother yelled. “That is final.”
“By all of you..you do mean them right dear?” She gave him a look. “Right all of us then. Well I have an answer for that.” He said and sounded out a long and loud fart.
“OOOOh Dad!”
“Why? You couldn’t take that out side?”
“Grand pa!!!” the kids covered their noses from the smell.
“You nasty Bastard.” His wife said covering her nose.
“What? It’s my house my table and it got them to stop arguing. Besides I don’t think this one smells so bad.”

“All right boys it’s time to go. Make sure you say good bye to everyone.” Jack told his boys.
“Okay.” They said and went into the house to find their grand parents.
“Black can I have a word with you?” Shaleef asked. He was not happy to hear that Jack had not broken it off with that woman he was seeing.
“Yeah sure.” Jack walked over to the side of the house with his brother. Neither said anything at first.
“Black I think you need to seriously reconsider having a relationship with this woman. I’m serious man. It’s not a good look. You know what she does so why would you put yourself and your kids in that kind of situation?” He asked him.
“Because she gave it up. When I confronted her about it she told me that she hasn’t done it since we got serious. When I came back from taking a walk to cool down and think about the situation she had deleted the site. She gave it up for us so it’s nothing to worry about.”
“She told she gave it up and you believe her? Oh god Jack I thought you were smarter that that. Please don’t tell me that after only a few months this woman got you as her fool. Shit I though Almira had you one that granted you were very young and inexperienced with women.”
“Shaleef she told me she gave and showed me that she had deleted the site and I believe her.”
“Jack people just don’t go cold turkey over night. Come on you think that some 43 year-old women is going to change her life…her ways for you? Jack, think about it. She seven years your senior…you’re like a boy toy to her or something. Besides what happens when Almira finds out you have a girlfriend? You know that woman is crazy.”
“Almira…she already knows. She found out last weekend. I was with Kay at Gino’s and Almira showed up. Let’s just say it was not a pleasant visit.”
“What did she do?” Shaleef asked.
“When I told her I was not going to talk to Ishmael about not divorcing her she got upset and smashed my glass of wine in my face in front of Kay. That is how I got this cut but the worst part was she ruined Kay’s dress and that did not go well. They got into a big fight and Kay beat her up. Almira managed to get Kay off of her and she ran.”
“Damn…and you think that Almira won’t go digging into Kay’s past and find out what according to you she used to do?”
“I don’t know I figure Almira will go lick her wounds or something then come to me about it but I’m not worried about it Kay doesn’t do it anymore and I’m happy.” Jack said
“I think you need to. You should know Almira better then anyone else. She think you still belong to her you know.”
“Yeah she sure acts like it sometimes but I don’t belong to her. She needs to understand that it is over between us. Right now she should be focusing on a way to keep her current husband.” Jack said.
“Yeah but aaa…Jack do you think Gino taped the fight?”
A/N: Not finished yet but the dinner part is done. I'll post the rest later.
