“All right baby but let’s take you to a doctor to make sure there are no small shards of glass in the cut.”
“No. I’m fine let’s just go besides you need to get something else to wear and get cleaned up.” Jack said to her.
Kay looked over herself once again and she was a mess. “Yeah I would like to get out of this thing but are you sure?”
“Yes, I am sure. Let’s just go to your place.” Jack said and walked to the car and opened the door for her. He didn’t like the attention for the cut Almira gave him. She hadn’t changed not even a little bit and it upset him.
Once they arrived at Kay’s apartment she told him to have a seat and that she be out shortly. Jack sat down on her couch and thought back to the events of today. Almira wasn’t even his wife anymore and she still manages to ruin his days in some form or another. He had stopped answer her calls because he knew she was just calling to get him to speak to Ishmael who has tighten his leash on her. She wanted to talk him out of having a baby because she didn’t want to get pregnant again. Jack didn’t want to get involved in that so the things he talked to Ishmael about was his sons. Almira needed to find a way out of her own mess. She completely embarrassed him today in front of Kay. When he thought about it he should have seen it coming and ducked when she picked up that glass. He had known her and should have expected it. In the back of his mind he wondered what kind of crazy ideas she had now since Kay beat her up.
“Ok now lemme see that cut again.” Kay said taking him partially away from his thoughts. She had come back with a first aid kit. She placed it down on the table and opened it up and took out an alcohol pad and turned his face toward her. Jack pulled away when she started to clean the wound.
“Sorry baby but I have to clean it.” She said to him.
“Why couldn’t the medical elite create a cleaning solution for cuts that is less painful?” He said dodging her second attempt.
“I don’t know but you have to hold still. I only need a few seconds.”
“Fine.” He said and stopped moving. He stayed still the rest of the time as she took care of the cut.
“There now you’re good.’
“Thank you.”
“Your welcome Jack. You know you should press charges against her. That women is completely nuts and she had not right to assault you like that.” Kay said but Jack just huffed. “You’re not going to report her?” she asked.
“No, she has custody of my youngest children and I wouldn’t embarrass my older ones. Something like that would get out and I don’t want their reputations to be messed up. Like I said before I have been through worse episodes with Almira. I should not have been surprised by her actions today. I knew better. This was my fault.” He said angry at Almira and himself.
“Don’t say that. It wasn’t your fault. She did what she did because of her not because of anything you did.”
“Sure.”
“Jack do you want to talk about it?”
“No.” He said curtly. Kay nodded and decided not to push the subject.
“Jack if you ever want to talk. I’m here okay I am here.” She assured him.
“Thank you…. I am going to have my youngest sons next weekend. I would like you to meet them.”
“That would be Jacob and Horace?” she asked.
“Yes that would be correct. They are coming to see me and I want them to meet you.”
“I would love to.”
Jack waited outside his apartment building for his children. Today was the day that he was going to take them to see Kay. Jack had already prepared for the visit and the meeting. They were going to meet her at the park and from there they go to Shake shack which was located inside the park. It was said to have some of the best shakes in the city and he had always promised to take them there. Jack thought it would be the perfect place to have a first meet. Jack’s car pulled up to the side walk and immediately after Jacob opened the door and got out the car. Jacob was the younger of the two. He had caramel skin like his father with jet black hair that if it had not been cut he would look exactly like his father. Horace the older of the two resembled his brother. The major difference between them physically was Horace’s hair was longer. They decided to keep it that way so everyone would be able to tell them apart.
Jack smiled. “Hello boys are you ready?”
“Yeah we’re ready you promised to take us tot eh shake shack for weeks.” Jacob said as he picked up his pack.
“So are we going or not?” Horace asked.
“Yeah we’re going. Get in the car. No the other car. I’m driving. Horace no you can’t ride in the front both of you in the back.”
“Aww dad you taking the Lincoln navigator?”
“Yes put you stuff in the back row. Kay is riding with us.” He said as he turned the car on and started to pull off.
“So who is she dad?” Horace asked. This would be the very first time that their dad introduced them to any women who where not working for him.
“She is my girlfriend. We have been going out for a few months now and I have met her son now it’s time for the both of you to meet her. I want you to treat her with respect like I taught you to treat women. Is that clear?”
“Yes sir.” They both said. In about 20 minutes they reached the park. Jack got out the car and was followed by the twins. He looked around until he saw her.
“There she is boys.” He smiled and walked up to Kay. He gave her a kiss and pointed to his sons.
“Kay I would like you to meet Horace and Jacob. Boys this is Ms. Kay Wilson.”
“Hi” they said and both took turns kissing her hand.
“I am so glad to finally meet both of you.” She and turned to Jack I see they both take after you Jack.” He smiled.
“They seem to now we are here why don’t we head on over to the shake shack.”
“Yes I have been wait three weeks for this trip.” Horace said walking ahead. Jacob followed not too far be hind him while Jack and Kay walked behind them.
Once everyone had gotten their orders they sat down at one of the bench tables. I was time to eat and get to know each other better.
“So how did you end up with our dad?” Horace asked.
“We work in the same business. Well to be more truthful we are business rivals. I own K-maxx and your father works for JMC. We met at the advertiser convention a few months back.”
“Is that so?” Jacob asked. The more they question her the more they acted like their father when he was in the office. “Did he tell you how many kids he has?”
“Yes and I have seen picture of you all.”
“How old are you?” Horace asked straight-faced. Jack took a double take on his son and eyed him.
“You know better than to ask a woman her age Horace.” Jack said sternly.
“I just curious because she can’t be no older than 35. Forgive me for the asking the question but I was so curious and you are so beautiful.” Horace said. Kay laughed.
“Oh come on man I thought we were taking turns with this.” Jacob said.
“Not my fault you were too slow.” Horace said.
“Jack they really are your children.” Kay laughed now see what the boys were trying to do. “don’t you know your too young for me?”
“Age ain’t nothing but a number.” Jacob said.
“And you ain’t told us a thing so how did you two really get together?” Horace asked.
“Like I said we met the…” Kay started
“No… No you’re not understanding what we are asking. We believe you met and had sex at he advertiser convention… but having a one night stand there does not explain how you got together.” Jacob stated.
“Boys you’re stepping out of line.” Jack warned.
“Dad if mom is going to yell at us about what she terms to be your ‘new whore’ then we figure we have a right to know what’s up especially since you introduced us.” Horace said to their defense.
“She told you what happened?” Jack asked.
“Yeah in her way. She yelled the whole time and step dad asked where was she and why she looked the way she did then the fire works really went off.” Jacob added recounting their mother’s reaction to being questioned as to her where abouts.
“Don’t worry about it. Mom been acting stranger than usual since that night.” Horace said. “Nothing against you Ms. Wilson we just like to know what’s really going on because our dad has never introduced us to any women as his girlfriend. Feels like we were being set up for something but you don’t seem half as bad as mom made you out to be.”
“You seem pretty nice.” Jacob added.
“Well I’m glad for that. Now about that day with your mother…” Kay started.
“It’s ok we don’t need to hear it. I’m sure what ever you did to her she deserved it.” Horace said.
“We know our mother. Don’t worry about we’re not going to hold it against you.” Jacob said and took a sip of his soda.
“Well I’m glad you both don’t. I am very sorry if I caused you any trouble at home.”
“Don’t worry about it. It’s our mother and she is they way she is.” Horace said. Kay looked at the two boys and began to feel very sorry for them.
“Boys are you done with the interrogation?” Jack asked trying to take his mind off what kind of craziness Almira might have said about Kay to her sons. He wasn’t pleased about it at all.
“No.” Horace said
“We still haven’t had our last question answered yet.”Jacob said.
“Then I will answer it.” Jack said. “We decided to enter into a relations a few months ago and that is all you need to know.”
“Aww man so we don’t get to know about the juicy stuff.” Jacob.
“There is no juicy stuff to know about besides you can’t have her. She’s mine.” Jack said playfully them.
“That might be true for now but by the end of the night she’ll be with us. We’re younger
and cuter than you are.” Jacob said. They all started laughing.

“Hey nephews! Long time no see. Come here!” Shaleef shouted to Horace and Jacob. It had been a week since the boys had met Kay. They spent the weekend together. The boys decided that they liked her very much and their father was pleased to see that they took to each other. In a few weeks they would meet Kay’s son and the boys couldn’t wait for that. Now was grand parents weekend and uncle Shaleef was going to be there too so that meet more fun at the dinner table.
“Black, Mom and Dad are in the house and they told me to tell you…..something I forgot. Hey Horace or is this Jacob?” Shaleef trailed off.
“Thanks.” Jack said and headed inside the house. It was a big house and Jack remembered when his parents bought it. It took a lot of work to get and even more to fix as the house was a fixer upper but he had some good memories in it.
“Well if it isn’t my son.” Jack’s father said walking slowly towards him from the living room entrance.”
“Father.”
“Son, so are my grandchildren here?”
“Yes the boys are outside with Shaleef. How are you Papa?”
“Very well but I could be better if my son were to settle down and keep out the business of his ex-wife. I am hearing various reports and I don’t like it.” Nasser said
“I am trying my very best to stay out of her business but she seems to like to get me involved when I don’t want to be.”
“Hmm so you say. Go see your mother.”
“Yes father.” Jack said and went on to look for his mother. It seemed that his father was usually the first one to chastise him for his continued dealings with Almira when he was the one that forced hi to marry her all those years ago. Jack when it came to that marriage it was all business and his father wanted him to keep it that way so he did not approve when Jack told him he was going to be a grandfather again. Both of his parent got on him for sleeping with Almira after they had divorced and she had married another man.
“Ma? Mother are you in here?” He asked walking into the kitchen.
“Of course I’m here someone has to make sure the food doesn’t burn. Where is Shaleef? He was supposed to take the chicken out the oven.” She said rushing back and forth.
“He’s out side with Horace and Jacob. I’ll get the chicken.”
“Good and put it out on the table we’ll be eating in a few minutes.” She said and disappeared behind a door. That was his mother always running around the house getting something ready.
“Emir I think the solution to your Almira problem is very simple. All you need to do is stop fooling around and settle down. Find yourself a nice woman and marry her. Almira will get the message then besides your boys need a stable woman around them.” Nasser said to his son. Shaleef sitting on the other side began to chuckle.
“What’s so funny? You need the same thing. You should have just married that girl and been down with it.” Nasser said to him.
“Dear why do you bother with this now. Horace and Jacob do not need to witness their father and uncle being chastised.” Grace said. She talked to both of her sons about the same thing but she reserved those conversations for the phone or in private.
“Come now dear maybe they will listen better.” Nasser said to his wife.
“No they won’t because they have your ears.” Jacob started to giggle and as soon as he did Jack slapped the back of his head hard. The boy stopped immediately and didn’t even look at this father.
“No their problem is their a stubborn ass like you.” Nasser retorted.
“”Well isn’t this the pot calling the kettle black you donkey.” She said quite smoothly. “Now back to you Jack what is Shaleef laughing about?”
“How dare you cut me off?”
“Oh shut up you old windbag I’m not talking to you now. Emir… Shaleef what’s going on?” she said ignoring her husband’s huffing as he thought or a comeback.
“It’s nothing really. Ahh…”
“Boy I taught you to speak better than that now what is it?” she asked sternly.
“I met someone a few months ago and we have been seeing each other exclusively. I have a girlfriend.” Jack finally admitted.
“What a girlfriend? Is she married?” Nasser asked surprised by the news.\
“No she is not married.”
“Oh good…at least I don’t have to worry about that. Hey how old is she?” his asked becoming very interested.
“She just turned 43 and she has a son whom is now in college. She also runs her own company.” Jack said.
“She’s 43? Boy what is wrong with you?” Nasser asked.
“That’s what I want to know.” Shaleef said. “You didn’t tell me she was that old Jack. Hell she’s older than Almira. Like I said seasoned pussy I guess. It’ll get you every time.” Just as Shaleef said that his mother slapped him.
“You know better than to talk like that in front of me and your nephews are here.”
“Sorry mother.”
“Now is Emir wants to be with an older woman then we should not give him any grief for it. As long as he is not sleeping with Almira anymore and is in a committed relationship then we should be happy that he is off the market.” His mother reasoned.
“Yeah, yeah Emir bring her here.” his father ordered.
“Dad you won’t have to worry about that cause he broke up with her right Black?” Shaleef said. Jack had not told his brother that he decided to continue his relationship with Kay.
“No we are still together.”
“What ya’ll still together?! Black have you lost your mind?!”
(A/N) – All right yeah part two next week of the dinner. Things have just begun to get crazy. Enjoy
