Is It Possible To Be TOO Down Of A Down Azz Chick

I came across a video on Facebook that left me rather confused. I couldn’t determine whether the woman was foolish, intelligent, “down” or lazy and it bothered me. Allow me to share the scenario with you. A woman by the name of Amie has a boyfriend with whom she lives with. He has just been released from jail for selling drugs and in an effort to keep him out of jail (and keep the money flowing into their home) Amie has decided it’s time she pulls her wait. Forget the fact that Amie has a disdain for working 9 to 5, Amie believes that in order to not only pay her portion of the bills, but also her boyfriend’s half, she needs to step up. What does Amie do? She starts selling her body for money. What does Amie’s boyfriend do when he finds out? He breaks up with her. Does Amie feel bad about what she had to do? Not at all, in fact she takes pride in the fact that she held her man down.

Yes, you read that right. In an effort to stop her boyfriend from doing illegal activity that can land him back behind bars, Amie decides to sell her body (also illegal) to make the money to pay their bills while her boyfriend looks for someone willing to hire him with a record. Is it possible to be TOO down of a down azz chick? Short answer: Yes, and this is a perfect example.Ā

I can ride or die for you but if I don’t like where you are steering me, I am exiting the vehicle. Don’t get me wrong, I’m empathetic when it comes to men who have served time and are trying to get back into the workforce. I’ve been in a similar situation, myself. It’s hard and it takes a lot of patience before you get an employer who believes in you. Would I ever result to prostitution to pay my bills? Of course not. I’ll cut off the cable. Hell, I’ll cut off the gas before I ever… Why? Because the value of someone else should never come before the value of yourself. It’s commendable that he wants to change his life around but shouldn’t his life changes and your life changes mirror each other? If he wants to live a law abiding lifestyle, wouldn’t you want to do the same? I mean, if he stuck around, the police could easily pin him as your pimp and what does that mean? Back to jail he goes.

The worst part of this is that Amie’s “ride or die” mentality came with a price. While she felt what she was doing was for a nobel cause, her boyfriend was disgusted and wanted no parts of her. Now she’s sold her pride in vain. How many times can you say that you rode for someone only for it to backfire? It happens much more than we’d like to admit.

My advice to Amie would be to first of all, get a 9 to 5 job and stop trying to take the easy way out. She isn’t paying the bills of a man who was paying ALL the bills, she’s paying the bills of a man who paid half, so clearly she can’t pay his half or her own. Obviously she’s not pimping herself out right and needs to find another career path. Everybody can’t be a boss. Secondly I would suggest Amie works on her self esteem. The happiness of someone else should never come before your own happiness. That goes the same with his freedom. Hold your man down, but know that there is only so much you can do.
