Jameis Winston Punished For Stealing Crab Legs, Says “I Made a Terrible Mistake”

FSU star QB and Heisman winner, Jameis Winston, was issued a citation recently for attempting to steal $33 worth of crab legs and crawfish from a local Publix supermarket but that did not conclude his punishment. 

According to Sportscenter, Florida State announced that Jameis Winston has been suspended from baseball team as result of the citation for allegedly shoplifting. He has also been fined $30 & required to do community service.

Jameis released a statement regarding the incident,  “I went to the supermarket with the intent to purchase dinner but made a terrible mistake.”

The entire incident was caught on the supermarket’s surveillance cameras. Investigators went to Winston’s home where he claims he “forgot” to pay yet made no effort to return to the store to pay. Though he was not arrested, he was issued a citation and complete 20 hours of community service. If he fails to complete the community service, he could be prosecuted for shoplifting. 


The local news reached out to the crab in question who had no further comment.
