Jeezy Shares His Thoughts On Black Lives Matter, Slams Donald Trump (VIDEO)

Jeezy is one rapper you can count on to stay on top of politics. The ATL legend appeared on CNN with Don Lemon where he expressed his thoughts on issues such as the Black Lives Matter movement.

Earlier in the day, hundreds of BLM activists showed up at the Mall of America to protest the death of Jamar Clark at the hands of police officers. The police managed to disperse the protest at the mall but that didn’t stop the protests for the day. BLM took their movement to the to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and transit stations.

When asked about Wednesday’s Black Lives Matter protests in Minneapolis Jeezy says, “If it only takes 20 people to get the attention of CNN and the rest of the world, I think it’s off to a great start. I definitely support the movement. I definitely think the [Mall of America] could have handled it a lot differently because now you have this, and now it’s going to continue to grow — as it should. Now we are going to continue to raise awareness. It’s the holidays and they’re still pushing this movement. You have to respect it. The worst they can get right now is a jay walking ticket, and I’ll pay that for them if that’s the problem.”

Jeezy also touched on crime in the black community and young urban youth needing leadership. “I just lost a friend recently here in Atlanta and it just hurt my heart to see his family have to bury him around this time. It’s pretty much a war zone out there. You have people that can’t really survive. They don’t really have jobs. They don’t really have opportunities, so they have to result to what they know and thats either taking something, committing a crime to get it or murdering someone.” He goes on to talk about the importance of hip hop in spreading a message to the generation as well as getting involved in things such as BLM. As far as black on black violence, Jeezy says this is something the black community has had to deal with since the “beginning of time” but it’s also very problematic when you have law enforcement officials gunning down children there needs to be a line drawn.

Before the interview ended, Jeezy discusses who he endorses for president and why he wouldn’t vote for Ben Carson just because he’s black.  “Whether he wins or loses, Donald Trump is doing this for his brand. We’re sitting here watching someone who should have been put out of the race a long time ago due to his actions but everything he does only puts him UP in the race because people of America love entertainment. This is no different than a TV show. To him it’s all fun. But when I look at Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, I see people who naturally care about the people.”
