Mark Cuban Patents Hoverboard Design, Threatens To Sue IO Hawk

Mark Cuban is all about his money and hover board companies may learn it the hard way. A few weeks ago Cuban says he partnered with Shane Chen, creator of the Hovertrax who in 2014, patented the design for the “two-wheel, self-balancing vehicle with independently movable foot placement sections,” or the hoverboard as we know them. He is vowing to sue any “knock-offs” of his designs/schematics and has already come at one company in particular, IO Hawk.

Prior to his involvement with Cuban, Chen sued IO Hawk in June,  but that didn’t stop IO Hawk from offering Cuban his own personal scooter. “Let us know when you want yours, we will come and meet you,” the official IO HAWK Twitter page tweeted Cuban. Maybe they didn’t get the memo that Cuban was a competitor? What made it even worse is that IO HAWK included a photo of Dallas Maverick’s latest signee, Javale McGhee riding their product. Was that shade or stupidity? Didn’t matter because Cuban clapped back.  “I’ll Just see you in court. We will let the judge decided. #payme,” he tweeted.

Since joining the Hovertrax team, Mark Cuban has fired off a bunch of cease and desist letters to copycat companies.

As for Javale,  Et tu Javale? He could’ve just asked his boss for a free board!
