Oakland Raiders Linebacker Under Investigation For Barking At A Police Dog

There are a lot of things you can’t do in this world and apparently taunting a police dog is one of them. Don’t believe me? Just ask 26-year old Raiders linebacker, Ray Ray Armstrong, who could possibly face felony charges.

The alleged incident took place at Sunday’s game against the Steelers, in the tunnel at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.  Deputy Maria Watts and her K-9 were patrolling for explosives when Armstrong, who was leaving the locker room to hit the field, became confrontational and aggressive and confrontational toward the K-9. He taunted the dog, jumping, beating his chest, barking and yelling at him. The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office are trying to determine whether or not charges should be brought up against Armstrong.

“Once the officer was able to identify the player, there was no rush to arrest at that point. Obviously there was a football game going on,” Kraus, a rep for the District Attorney’s office said. “We wanted to make sure we got as much information as we could, properly reviewed it and made a sound judgment how we proceed.”

I’m assuming that this is only a big deal because taunting a K-9 is the equivalent of taunting a uniformed officer. The Raiders were notified after stadium surveillance was reviewed by authorities.
