We originally posted this blog back in 2008, when Forbes put out a list of where the billionaires play. We have updated the blog, because as you know developers are constantly throwing up hotels that try to outdo the last one.

 

This is your chance to play where the billionaires play for your chance of snagging a baller. According to Forbes, these are the hottest spots where the billionaires party:

St. Tropez

Jay-Z rapping about St. Tropez has bought awareness to this destination. Located in France it's where the rich dock their yachts on the French Riviera and party at chic bars, restaurants and nightclubs. The hot hotel is the Byblos Hotel (and hasn't changed since 2008) and the fine dining restaurant is Alain-Ducasse's Spoon and Club 55. Get you a pair of dockers and yacht shoes and make your reservations.

Sun Valley, Idaho

Can you believe Idaho is on the list? This mountainous town becomes the "billionaire summer camp" when Herb Allen invites media moguls to his annual summer conferences for meetings along with golf, rafting and fishing. I googled the dates for 2009 and couldn't find them but I did find this quote.

Fuel up your jets, next week is the start of “Camp Allen”, the annual summer investment conference hosted by the investment banker Herbert A. Allen Jr. of Allen & Co. that caters to the crème de la crème of media, entertainment and tech managers.

Looks like everyone flies private to this meeting. Maybe we can all get together and take a road trip and hang out at the golf course. The hot hotel is The Sun Valley Lodge and the hot restaurant is The Trail Creek Cabin.

Maui, Hawaii

Billionaires journey to this lush, tropical island to stay at the Four Seasons resort for a pampered paradise. I have been before and it is absolutely beautiful. I stayed at the Kea Lani and it looked like a white castle. The Four Seasons is a few hotels down. The spot were the billionaires eat is Duo Steak and Seafood, Spago and Ferraro's.

The Hamptons

Billionaires flock to this destination to enjoy quaint beaches and rocking nightlife. We all have heard about the Diddy parties in the Hamptons. The hot hotel is The 1770 House and the hot restaurant is Sunset Beach. Have you been to the Hamptons?


St. Barth's

Yacht owners sail to this Caribbean Island to hang with the Hollywood celebrities and enjoy French culture in a tropical setting. This is another destination on my list. The hot hotel is Eden Roc and the billionaires love to eat at On The Rocks.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Surprised? I'm not. People with money like to make more money and they do that by gambling. Vegas is about the glitz, glamour and excess. The wealthy travel to Vegas for it's luxurious spas, hotels and high-stake casinos. Forbes says that the billionaires hang at The Wynn and eat at Alex at the Wynn. The new hotels like Cosmopolitan and Aria are the hot spots now. I recommend finding high stake Baccarat tables in Vegas and hang around there or any high roller section.

Johannesburg, South Africa

Travel to the motherland and party with the billionaires. The rich wine and dine in South Africa's "Golden City". The hot hotel is Westcliff Hotel and they dine at Auberge Michel and Gramadoelas Restaurant. Oprah travels here frequently.

Palm Beach, Florida

With perfect year-round weather, this Florida town is a magnate for billionaires. The hot hotel is The Breakers and restaurant is Cafe Boulud. Donald Trump frequents Palm Beach. Personally I love South Beach, where Star and Fisher Islands are where the billionaires play and live and the Setai is where they stay.
