Over the weekend Ashanti was set to show up at Mixx Lounge in New York. In an Instagram post , the singer apologizes to fans, saying the club was abruptly shut down by the promoter and the police, so she did not get to make her appearance. Unfortunately, the promoter is singing a totally different tune.
In a post on the club’s page, a patron asks whether or not the club was shut down by police. The club says that it wasn’t the case. The club itself was actually open, but the promoter felt that it was “kind of light” so they cancelled Ashanti. At that point fans who paid $25-$40 and waited all night to see Ashanti took to her Instagram post to lash out. They confirmed police were not called and the club was never shut down. Ashanti then deleted the post, but who’s really to blame?
