Singer Loses $42 Million Lawsuit Against Taylor Swift

Jessie Braham, the 50 year old R&B singer who was suing Taylor Swift for $42 million over the lyrics to her single “Shake It Off,” can forget about seeing any of that money. According to reports, the case has been dismissed.

U.S. District Court Judge Gail Standish wrote in her ruling,

“At present, the Court is not saying that Braham can never, ever, ever get his case back in court. But, for now, we have got problems, and the Court is not sure Braham can solve them… As currently drafted, the Complaint has a blank space – one that requires Braham to do more than write his name. And, upon consideration of the Court’s explanation… Braham may discover that mere pleading BandAids will not fix the bullet holes in his case. At least for the moment, Defendants have shaken off this lawsuit.”

For all the non-Taylor Swift fans in the house the references used came from Taylor’s singles, Bad Blood, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Blank Space and Shake It Off.

The judge referencing Taylor Swift lyrics? Looks like this case was doomed from the start.
