The "Cougar" Groupie

What is a “cougar” groupie you may ask? According to OfficialGroupie, a cougar groupie is an older woman who actively searches and preys upon younger ballers to achieve financial stability. They would generally date a same-age or older man but would only date a younger baller for the money. Typically, they prey on the rookies or the players that have been in the league 2-3 years. There is at least a 5-year age difference between the woman and the baller. Cougar groupies are sometimes mistaken for the “professional” groupie because they appear to have their s*** together. They typically have a career, are financially stable, usually no kids, are experienced, look young, are attractive, have a banging body, are mature, have the “fly girl” appeal, and are nurturing. Nurturing is the trait that is the main component.

The cougar groupie is often hard to identify by females because they look young. They are usually laid back and observant because they are plotting and planning. They do not display the typical groupie traits….because they know better. If the cougar groupie is in the club, they are almost always in VIP…”just chillin and doing their thing with the girls” with an expensive bottle of liquor on ice. They act mature and are not wilding out in the club when their song comes on. They don’t get starstruck when a baller arrives. They just give a slight head nod to their girls to let them know the ballers are in the building. If the cougar groupie is at work, she is even more inconspicuous. It appears as though she’s just doing her job. Of course she is doing her job….doing her job of preying upon younger ballers. The young ballers have a difficult time identifying them because they are so new to the game that they haven't had the experience to be able to categorize them. Plus, we all know men are a lil slow so it takes them a while;)

So what separates her from the other groupies? The cougar groupie knows ALL of the right things to say and do to lure these young ballers who don’t know any better…..and they fall for it. The cougar groupie displays some maternal traits without being too motherly. The young baller feels secure since a lot of them are still a “momma’s boy”. The younger ballers are usually impressed by them because they display maturity, experience, and stability.

Carmelo Anthony

So to all of the young new rookie groupies, please be aware of the cougar groupies. They have been in the game for a while. These broads are experienced and know ALL the games and rules. These broads have been there, done that, and can write a book about it if they want. Therefore, don’t sleep on them because they are working and preying very discreetly on that young baller that you’ve been eyeing.

I recently ran into him @ a local strip joint and from the convo i could clearly tell that he still hasnt matured! When i asked him how old is he now he puffed his chest out and replied 22 girl!
