Torrey Smith Leads Ravens To Victory Even After Death Of His Younger Brother

With a heavy heart, Torrey Smith managed to lead his team, the Baltimore Ravens, to a 31-30 victory against the Patriots yesterday. This came less than 24 hours after finding out that his younger brother lost control of his motorcycle and died after striking a utility pole.

“I can’t believe my little brother is gone…be thankful for your loved ones and tell them you love them…this is the hardest thing ever” Smith announced via his Twitter page. He left the team’s hotel early Sunday morning to be with his family and it was unclear on whether he would return to play in last night’s game. But he did return, with his second family, his team standing with him, even participating in a pre-game moment of silence.

23 year old Torrey was the oldest of 7 children. Much like a father figure to his siblings as their mother worked long hours to provide. Tevin was no more than 20 years old. Prayers are with their family during this tragedy.
